Rancho de Philo, the cute little winery on Wilson Avenue, opens its doors tomorrow for the annual sherry sale. The winery, run by Janine Biane Tibbetts and her husband, Alan, is opened just one week out of the year to sell its Triple Cream Sherry. The winery is on 10050 Wilson Ave. and is opened 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 21.

I'm sorry Wendy but this is a very cheesy way to get "free advertising" for a profit business. Why don't they PAY for an ad like everyone else does? Biane's again taking advantage of free things!
Well, Freebie. I'm afraid our paper gives "free advertising" all the time, not just to the supervisor's aunt. We write about the new 99 Ranch opening, we write about how Omaha Jacks is turning around, we write a string of stories every year about the L.A. County Fair. Have you ever read our glowing reviews of restaurants in our Features section? I think the fact that a local winery is opening for a limited time is news.
Biane's winery opening begs the question:
Will Paul be there and driving home?
