Relaxation at the library

| | Comments (2) |
There's all kinds of things going on at the libraries these days that didn't exist when I was young. Video games, computers, arts and crafts to name a few.

Next Thursday, there will be yoga.

The Biane Library will host a free yoga workshop at 7 p.m. The class is part of the Adult Summer Reading Program "Novel Destinations," which focus on travel and world cultures.

There are all kinds of other things going on at the library that didn't exist when I was young: Kids running, screaming, and climbing over the reading chairs in the adult section, parents oblivious that their 1-year-old has been having a meltdown for over a half hour, people sitting at tables and just chatting, and endless phone calls. (My favorite was a young girl who answered her phone, "Hello? HELLO? HELLO?! I'M IN THE LIBRARY AND THE RECEPTION IS REALLY BAD!!!") I wished they still hired old biddy librarians who would continuously shush people, as the present staff doesn't say or do anything.

Thanks for letting me vent. Maybe I needed to stay for the yoga.

That girl probably doesn't know what a dewey decimal system is. Hey Judi, have you tried the back room of the Biane Library near the magazines? I go there sometimes to write my stories.
