Filipino food on the way?
In other 99 Ranch news ... the grocer has submitted a plan check to the city's Planning Department to open a Filipino restaurant inside the market. There are a number of spaces inside 99 Ranch for several small shops and two restaurants.
Planning Director James Troyer said there is no timeline as to when the restaurant will receive its permits.

WIN WIN WIN - Can already imagine it now, lechon paksiw, sinigang, sisig!!!! Now my next question is, I hope they are aware they will need a electrostatic precipitator to avoid becoming a nuisance. When the new filipino restaurant becomes a nuisance, how do you distinctly detect the different emmisions from 99 Ranch and the Filipino restaurant? Or will 99 Ranch become a nuisance again?
I can hardly wait. Finally we are getting some food variety in town other than the national chains.
That center is soon going to be all wn Asian business. Last weekend I just tried the new restuarant that opened in that center . It was great. Funny how that center was almost empty a couple years ago. Now you go across the west side of Archibald and it's going vacant. Taco Bell moved out, the old mayor's urgent care shut down and looking shabby.....what's next?
We visited the new restaurant Red Hot Chili and it was great. We will definitely be back. Like Lucky Duck said, Rancho has way too many chains.
I liked Red Chili, too. Their dan dan mein is pretty yummy.
Rancho, like most of IE, has a lot of chains. But if you do some searchin' and if you're adventurous you can find a lot of mom and pops. Pho Ha, The Deli and Taco Hut, both on Foothill, Flamingo Palms on Archibald and Tio's on Day Creek are among my favorites.
