On the agenda: trash rates
Trash collection rates could go up in this city.
There will be a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Aug. 17 at the Council Chambers about proposed rate hikes for residential and commercial trash haul rates. The current $20.99 rate could go up to $21.88 for single-family homes. The $14.06 rate for seniors could go up to $14.66. To see the complete list of proposed rate changes, visit the City Clerk's office at City Hall Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
According to City Hall, the planned rate hike is due to increases in the consumer price index, materials processing and increased disposal costs.
Residents can protest the planned increases by writing to the City Clerk's office, 10500 Civic Center Dr., Rancho Cucamonga, 91729. Written protests must be received by 6 p.m. Aug. 16.

Is there any alternative but to accept the increase? Who else would collect the trash, are there other companies in the area? This dog and pony show is silly, the city council always says yes so why bother going thru this BS.
Fred, I've always wondered about things like this. What if we said instead of having trash service every 7 days, what if we had it every 8 days? What if there were modified schedules for summer and winter? since less waste is generated in the winter... does the city council ever look into this?
this is funny.
The city council receives Thousands of dollars each election form the owners of the trash comp[any and extended family. it is about time they collect on the "donations" they give.
There are several other trash companies but according to the 460s they don't donate to the city council re-election.
