LMD 2 votes no

Property owners have voted down changes to Landscape Maintenance District 2 fees. That means the current rates will remain the same for all home owners, business owners and other property owners in the Victoria Planned Community.

Each vote is weighed differently in this counting process, which took three hours tonight. For example, a home owner, who would pay $460 if the vote passed, has a vote worth $460. But an owner of a condominium, who would pay $368, has a vote worth $368.

The "yes" vote represented $453,916 verses the "no" vote of $678,354.

Assistant City Manager John Gillison said staff will bring a report to the City Council in the next 90 days outlining options for LMD2 now that the vote has failed.

is this a monthly fee or a yearly fee?

This is an annual fee. It goes with your property tax bill.

My suggestion, if a RC resident's suggestion matters, is to find a new landscape maintenance company who would be very happy to work for the existing budget. Given today's economy woes, I can't imagine that would be hard to find. But this might be too simple and sensible of a solution...

I suppose that was a no duh question I asked.

I get a $300+ charge on my tax bill for landscaping living in Terra Vista. I don't know if that is a Terra Vista charge or a city wide charge. If that is a city wide charge, then in Victoria Park area they get billed for both the local Victoria park charge and the landscape charge?

Anybody know?

Andy, the $304 or $380 you pay at Terra Vista (depending if you live in a condo or home) stays in your community, otherwise known as landscape maintenance district 6. It's not a citywide charge.
