WinCo just didn't work out
WinCo is not coming to the city after all.
The supermarket had intentions to open in the Mervyn's space at the Terra Vista center but changed its mind.
Instead, Hobby Lobby is coming in. According to its website, Oct. 3 is the planned opening day. Hobby Lobby is a national chain of arts and crafts stores selling fabric, picture frames, jewelry, scrapbooking supplies and other arts and crafts items.
Several other Hobby Lobby stores opening later this year, in Temecula and Merced, are also taking over a former Mervyn's.

Hmmm From your description Hobby Lobby sure sounds a lot like a store a few hundred feet away - Michaels. I'll be happy to see the space filled, but I can't say that I'll frequent the new business.
That's okay, Dean. You probably didn't go to Mervyn's much either.
Unfortunate for Winco, I think it would have been nice to have a 24 hour market and something to fill the space, I don't see much of a reason to have another Michael's type store in the same shopping plaza.
If the supermarket was not going to come in, I'm sure they could have found another retail chain to fill the space. Boy has terra vista changed from years ago and it being the main shopping place for the area.
Hobby Lobby is a lot like Michaels but much bigger and I think everyone will fall in love with it.
