Condor conservation and banning lead shots
Last week, a rare giant condor died at the Los Angeles Zoo of lead poisoning. The culprit? Lead fragments from bullets that poison birds who dine on gut piles or carcasses left by hunters. Audubon California is urging lead shots be banned in condor country. Should lead ammo be banned?

I love the outdoors and all of the wildlife we've been blessed with on this planet. If you ban lead and then a truck, car or powerline kills another Condor are we going to ban that too? If you want to ban anything lets ban something that causes more misery, death and destruction then any product on this earth. Ban alcohol.

Lead is poison. We've gotten it out of paint and gasoline. Now is the time to get it out of bullets... not just for condors, but for human health, too.

Ban automobiles! Lead, asbestos, mold, dihydrogen monoxide are all in the same low risk category compared to automobiles.

I would like to see the proof.
"Lead fragments from bullets that poison birds who dine on gut piles or carcasses left by hunters."
Prove to the world, before you start wasting tax payers money on a bunch of new gun control measures. We all know that is what you are trying to do.

Its amazing, I would gladly remove or bury a gut pile. But, the eco freaks want it left out to feed the critters. Damned if you do, Damned if you don't.

Yes, I would like to see proof also.
The enviromentalists introduced that toxic poison called MTBE into California, and look at how much that cost!

See link to set your mind at ease about the lead issues.
Its real, and its not an anti hunting issue at all. I know alot of people who think it is and they are sadly mistaken. Change your ammo to non lead if not for the wildlife, then for your own health and the health of your children that are eating tainted game meat. The original conservationists are hunters. Lets keep that tradition true.
