What do you think of President Bush's new Iraq plan?
Comments
Bullheaded, Ill-advised, Predictable, Uncaring, Chilling. Bush wants to hand over the mess in Iraq to the next administration so we will begin to forget he made the mess - let's resolve that's not going to happen.
Everyone should just shut up and let the man do his work. All the wimps who just want to cut an run don't see the big picture. Our enemies want to turn America into a parking lot. This is going to be a long, long haul so get over yourselves and let the President do his work to continue getting the job done!
Bush never listened to any of his formers general like, Tommy Franks, John P. Abizaid and Eric K. Shinseki so I have zero confidence left for an idiot who did not follow the advice of these and many other generals. Even Dick Cheney made a statement as to why the U.S. did not go into Iraq after the first war with Iraq. Cheney talked about what a disaster and turmoil would be created by removing Saddam and not having a government in place. So I have to wonder did Cheney forget his own words years later when he became Vice-President.
Run David run the terrorists are coming. By the way do some research many retired generals are of the opinion the war in Iraq helped motivate and recruit more Islamic terrorists.
Go to YouTube and search what these generals have to say about Bush, Rumsfeld and Iraq, these are the experts we pay to know about war.
William E. Odom, Robert Gard, John Batiste, Paul D. Eaton, Wesley Clark, Tommy Franks, John P. Abizaid and Eric K. Shinseki.
Never have so many generals resigned in the midst of a war and denounced their former commander in chief.
Dave will be showing us all what kind of real macho patriotic man he really is by enlisting in the Army to fight King Dubya's Oil War! Way to go Dave, give 'em hell on the frontlines!
Nothing good will come to the world without making sacrifices. God bless these young men and women who are doing just that. They are doing something for me. They are doing something for America and they are doing something for freedom and democracy through out the world.
Everyone voting for another 5 to 10 years in Iraq- another 4000 or 5000 American dead, another 25,000 wounded, untold thousands of dead Iraqis, another half a trillion tax dollars wasted- stand up now and applaud Mr. Bush. That is his plan.
Let's get out of Iraq in a prudent fashion (six months?) and do what we should have done all along- go after Bin Laden and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Yes, our soldiers deserve all our respect. After all the won the war in Iraq! The thing is they are not, nor should they be police.
Iraq needs to step up to the plate and police there own citizens.
What plan?
Quit blowing smoke it is time to end this. Let the troops return to their families. When they do return lets not forget their mental, spirtual and emotional needs. It is over
Our wars in Korea and Vietnam were not lost on the battlefield. They were lost in the halls of Congress amidst the same type of whinning and complaining we are hearing today. Here we go again! Today we still have tens of thousands of US soldiers in Korean, Afghanistan and even the Balkans; no one seems irritated by that.
No matter what we say, no matter what protests take place, no matter what "recommendations" he gets, no matter how many soldiers get killed in Iraq, The President will do what he wants, period. This supposed gradual pullout is a joke. All theyre doing is buying time, we will still have the same amount of troops there as we did prior to the surge. This is why I dont vote. It makes no difference. Hey, how about our leaders send THEIR children over to Iraq, why dont we see what happens. Why not, its such a good idea to be there, right?
President Bush was elected by the American people and not by Iraqi's. there are many problems here in America that needs those billions of dollars and the attention and care by the President. For more than four years (longer than World War II) every request by Iraqis is immediately and favorably acted upon by Mr. Bush. It is a sad commentary that this man from Texas who calls himself the President is always at every beck and call by the corrupt Iraqi government. Let's pray hard so this person will see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The recommendations by Army Gen. David H. Petraeus is wise and prudent at this juncture; he will give another status report in march 08 to reassess the situation. Pres Bush realized the mistakes he made (which may partially explain why he's gone through so many generals) and obviously paid for it in other ways as well. It's been a weighty burden on the current general to put the best foot forward on an unpopular foreign policy. Pres Bush needs to see this through, with the best possible outcome prior to his leaving office.
leave bush alone he is doing the best he can . alot better than you dam coward democrats did. we have only one more year left and bush will be out of office then you dam democrats can bitch at the next republican that will be in office.
GWBush will go down in history as the worst president ever. He is probably guaranteeing the defeat of the GOP for the next president.
To listen to the present cowardly dwarfs of the GOP candidates for president, we are insulted by such phrases as the "terrorists will follow us home" and "we have to fight them over there so we won't have to fight them here."
How could my fellow Americans be so dense, so thick as to buy this "logic?"
