Killing time in a sea of brake lights

Drivers in Los Angeles face the absolute worst rush-hour traffic in the country, spending nearly two workweeks stuck behind the wheel in jams and wasting nearly 60 gallons of gas, according to a recent study. How do you kill time when faced with that red sea of brake lights on the road?

If the foreigners don't learn our laws will be more trouble and the nuts on cell phones going 40 in the fast lane grrrrrrrrrrr

Obscene jestures and profanity. Don't let the stress internalize, let it out and move on

I don't deal with it. I leave for work early enough to avoid the traffic and I don't go to congested areas on weekends. No problem.

My guess is that if we got rid of the 20 million illegals it would ease up traffic quite a bit.

Scream at the top of your lungs! Yesterday two seperate people tried to make left turns over a double yellow during rush hour going home right in front of me.

Move out of the Congested areas if it bothers you that much. LIFE IS WAY TOO SHORT! To be stuck in traffic!

SCAG is encouraging developers to create housing for another 6 million people in Southern California in the next couple of decades. All these new homes will be profitable for the developers and will provide a "trickle-down" benefit for the city officials who approve these projects. Guess this means you haven't even seen congestion yet. Enjoy.

The problem will never get better and it will only get worse. Widening the freeways would temporarily ease the problem for a very short time. We need to look at other alternatives such as rapid mass transit that don’t create pollution (electric) and I don’t mean the bus. We need solutions that will get us to our destinations as fast or faster than our cars would if there was no traffic.

I just started to be a part of this awful traffic parade having walked and biked for the past several years. There needs to be better enforcement of ***holes that cut people off, drive horribly, etc. It's the biggest waste of time, E.V.A.R.

The Manhattanization of L.A. is increasing - small homes being torn down and converted to multilevel condos. This aggravates traffic congestion greatly in what were formerly quiet neighborhoods. If you want Manhattan - style density, go back home to the East Coast.

IF more people would get off the phone, pay attention and realize that there is life beyond their little bubble in the world--that would solve alot of the problems in traffic. And during the off peak hours--freeway means traveling faster than 45mph in the fast lane. Most of these idiots are nothing more than accidents waiting for a place to happen.
