Police protection in the Valley
While the number of LAPD officers in the San Fernando Valley has dropped to its lowest level in four years, police brass are saying response times have decreased and overall crime is down. Should more police be stationed in the Valley?

I had someone try to rob me a couple of weeks ago. I was able to fight the robber off, and he left without getting any of my money. I called 911,and it took 25 minutes for LAPD to respond to my call. When I asked the officer why it took so long to respond, he said that there was only 3 officer's in the West Valley Div, answering calls, and one officer writing the reports up. I told him that those trash fee in creases were really paying off. He smiled knowingly. I keep hearing about all of the cops that the LAPD have hired over the last couple of month's. They
certainly aren't being deployed to the West Valley.
