Unions are a double edged sword. They help with fair and equal pay, but they also breed some of the most lazy people in the work force. Yes, the studios are making money hand over fist and yes they should share this with all parts of the entertainment industry.
F*ck the gready unions and f*ck the gready stufios. There is nothing but crap on TV these days anyway. People should turn off the boobtube for a while and re-learn the fine art of reading or taking a walk at night. Come on people, it's just a bunch of gready people whom want our money.
I want the writers to get what they want, however the union for accountants does nothing for us and no one will even listen to us when we ask for benifits so I really can give a flying rats ass about these guys. I'd like to see all the accountants in town go on strike and see the effect is has. Guaranteed it would make a bigger impact that the writers striking.

The negotiating tactic of "waiting" until a strike is certain will prove to be a terrible tactic. This negotiating process should have been on the bargaining table 8 months ago. The writers will not get the compensation that is being sought, and at the end of this horrible decision to strike the outcome will be a huge financial disaster for all of the unions affected. Financial duress of the memebers will ultimately dictate the resolution.
I'd like for everyone to get their due but in the process this strike is hurting a lot of people who work in the industry. All those "little people", as they like to refer to them will not be getting paid! My daughter is one and she NEEDs that paycheck! Please remember all those people while you are striking for 4 cents more! All the best to you all!
Writers are the heart of the TV and film industry - and the least rewarded financially! Individually, they have no bargaining power. Organized, they have some. Go for it, screen writers!
