The 747 area code could be landing on the Valley -- long the home of the 818 -- in fall 2009 if it's approved by the California Public Utilities Commission next week. While the plan will only apply 747 to new customers, it also could me all Valley residents will have to dial the full 10-digit phone number when calling out, even if they're calling someone in the same area code.
