This is the only picture I have of both Jim Jr. and I in the same photo. I built the first car in 1954 and it was stolen from our station in North Long Beach in Nov. of 1957. The car pictured is the second car I built. It only ran at Auction City where all our races were televised on Channel 5 every Saturday for several weeks.
Sometimes we went to other tracks, as far away as Santa Maria and we were featured on the Mickey Mouse Newsreel in our first year at the Little Gilmore track in Paramount. Those were great times and the sport is now a nation wide, as well as a world wide family sport....but much more expensive now !! Jimmie attended Lincoln Elementary School in Paramount and Sutter Elementary later. Jim was attending Jordan when he joined the Army and volunteered for Viet Nam in 1969 - 1971.

We used to spend a lot of time at Auction City when I was in school in Downey. I havent heard anyone mention it for quite a while. Brings back a lot of fun memories. Great looking car.

For those of us too young to know the history, how about a little info on the car and the tracks?
