Jim Lewis, chief executive officer of Long Beach Rescue Mission joins other proud Navy Dads for a "Tiger Cruise" aboard the USS Providence (SSN-719), a Los Angeles-class Nuclear Powered Fast Attack submarine this week. We spent two days with our sons (or close relative), explored the boat, performed high-speed maneuvers, experienced the tight sleeping quarters, and award-winning food. We are extremely proud of our submarine service keeping their ever-watchful eye out for trouble ... or hunting it down.

 A Dream Come True!
Kristin Kelso, 24, of Long Beach visits Sydney, Australia. It was a lifelong dream of mine to travel Australia by myself. After many years of saving I was able to spend a month touring the East Coast and Northern Territory during Australia's summer in December and January. I spent Christmas and New Year's in Australia. I fulfilled my dream of visiting the Opera House, Steve Erwin's Australia Zoo, the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Rainforest, Ayers Rock and much more! It was the greatest experience of my life! I worked hard to get there and I don't think it would have been as meaningful if the trip had just been handed to me. I will never forget Australia.
