Cypress neighbors Mike and Kathie Rood, front, and Jon and Jan Breitbarth share a gondola in Venice, Italy in September 2009. Prior to visiting Venice we spent time in Florence where we saw "David," Michelangelo's magnificient sculpture and beautiful Renaissance paintings by Botticelli and many other artists.

Vic Peterson, left of Los Alamitos and Manny Clores of Cypress reached the summit of Mt. Whitney on June 14, 2010. A late snow storm made the 96-switchback-route impassable, so with crampons and ice axes we climbed up the chute route.
