Janet DeGiorgio, an avid reader and subscriber of the Press-Telegram for over 50 years grew up in Long Beach. She graduated from Poly High in 1962 and Cal State Long Beach in 1966. She taught kindergarten in the Los Angeles School District from 1966 to 2006, 40 years. She retired in 2006 and in 2009 she was able to fulfill a lifelong dream, to go on a Safari in Africa. She tent-camped in the Serengeti. In this photo she's wearing her Long Beach Boot Camp shirt. "Attending their boot camp got me in shape to go on a Safari," she said.

Daniel Esparza and Lucy Omeetin spent Christmas on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. It was beautiful, especially when we stopped to see the Byodo-in Temple. It was beautiful with its flowers, birds, trees, plants and pond full of fish. The whole scene is breath taking.

Walt Zwonitzer and Ann Walters toured southern Colorado. Walt is pictured at the Fred Harman Museum in Pagosa Springs. Mr. Harman was the creator of the long running Red Ryder comic strip, a childhood favorite of Walt's.
