pn06-rpfamily.JPGPictured are four generations of Enkhorns from Wessell Enkhorn who arrived in Bellflower, CA in 1937 after the depression looking for work as many Dutch from Iowa did. Wessell had lost his trucking company due to the depression. Wessell arrived in the U.S. from Holland at the age of 4. His two sons Wessell and Pete came to Bellflower with him in 1937 when they were 7 and 3. They first lived on Bellflower Blvd. next to a Beverly Gale tap dance studio which is now where the 91 freeway is. Wessell and his family rode the passenger rail (Redcar) to Los Angeles from this very location in the picture. Wessell is survived by his son Pete Enkhorn and his grandson Pete Enkhorn II still lives with his family in Bellflower.
Pictured are Wessell and Ann Enkhorn's surviving son Pete and his brother Wessell's children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
