I want to share with all, the 65th Anniversary of two wonderful people, my mother and father, Dr. Wendel Howard and Evelyn Jane Davis.Dad was born in California, the only son of Lorena and Howard Davis. Mom was born in Michigan the only daughter of Edna and Leman Cruice. The two became college sweethearts at USC. Dec. 11, 1945 was the day these two "tied the knot." Their theme song, "They Tried To Tell Us We're Too Young," was playing, their hearts were beating, and today, the great love they have shared should be captured to spread the world over!
Thank goodness their parents didn't wash their hands of them. They chose instead to help them wash their clothes.
The union took, and succeeding generations followed in a similar pattern; that is, don't waist too much time courting.
Thus Grandma Janie and Papa got busy spreading their special love to two children, David (me) and my brother Chris. We, along with our spouses, Didi and Karlean, brought five more children; Paul, Jennifer, Shawn, Troy, and Garrett, into our lives to love. Paul married Erin and brought fourth generation children, Sierra and Alexandra into the fold. Jennifer married Allan and two more, Ashley and Nicole came. Troy married Leslie and brought beautiful little Harper Cruice into the love.
`Then, as their song goes, "someday they may recall, we were not too young at all."
