pn17-rpgoodkids.JPGStudents at Bethany Lutheran School in Long Beach recently donated handmade blankets to the Lakewood Sheriff's Department. The blankets were made in class as part of an All School Service Day. Each grade level, from pre-school through 8th grade selected a service related project that would benefits others within the community. The students in Miss Imes 5th/6th grade and Mrs. Werner's 5th grade classes decided to make blankets and deliver them to the local Sheriff's station. A highlight of the trip was a comprehensive tour of the Sheriff's station given to the students by the station officials. Other classes at Bethany Lutheran School collected food, clothing and toys for those with less; designed and delivered handmade cards to residents of a senior center where they serenaded the residents; and collected books for children in homeless shelters.
