pn15-rpbestshot1.JPGOn Friday, August 12, 2011, my son, Kyle S. King, was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. After graduating from Lakewood High School in 2004 and serving in the Marine Corps for four years, he was accepted into an enlisted to officer education program in 2008. He received his bachelors degree late last year from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, in Charleston, SC, where he majored in history and minored in Spanish. His next tour of duty will be in Quantico, VA. The King Family hails from Lakewood and are long-time Press Telegram subscribers.
Quote from Kyle "My great-grandfather was a Marine during WWI, my grandfather was a sailor during World War II, my father served during Vietnam, so it was just natural to continue the tradition and serve my country in this capacity. Its an honor."
