DGA: Finally, it's a horse race

Or is it? While it's nice to see Spielberg's troublesome Munich finally get a bit of the serious consideration it deserves, and even Paul Haggis' too-contrived but late-surging Crash . . . well, surge . . .

. . . the Directors Guild of America feature film nominations also enhance the front-runner status of Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain and Good Night, and Good Luck director George Clooney's political pin-up boy position.
Regardless. lets hope this signals the beginning of a less-boring Oscar race than what we've had so far. Idiotic as such art competitions are, if you're gonna have, at least make 'em interesting.
