AFI Fest: Back in Time

The American Film Institute's 20th AFI Los Angeles Film Festival doesn't open for the public until Thursday. But you can start psyching yourself up for the feast of film now by checking out the informative and fun online database and timeline.
As part of the 20th birthday bash, the entire history of both the AFI Fest and its predecessor, the Los Angeles Film Exposition (Filmex), has been posted. That's 35 years worth of information about every movie in each festival (over 6,000 titles), plus highlights of events, pictures, graphics and hoopla galore. It's an invaluable resource for art film fans and a wonderful slice of L.A. nostalgia for all to enjoy.
