And God Said: Snakes Begone!

Many big issues will be raised by "Evan Almighty," the very expensive, June 22nd sequel to the hit comedy "Bruce Almighty."
Topics like how does one tell the difference between faith and delusion and does God really look like Morgan Freeman are there to be debated. Mostly, though, I expect people will come out of this Noah's Ark parable arguing about which of its many animals were real and which ones were computer generated.
Star Steve Carell cleared up at least one such instance for us. The answer was more Solomonic that Noahlike, but what the hel . . .er, what the heaven's sake.
"The snake that that you see was CGI'd," says Carell, whose title politician Freeman orders to build an ark. "The snakes, plural, that they used, they couldn't use in the movie because they kept crawling down the back of my jacket. And these were, like, pythons; these were serious, big, nasty snakes. But they couldn't use it because you couldn't see 'em.
"They were there. They were just, like, in my clothes. So I had to suffer through that, and then they computer generate a snake over me.
"But I did suffer for the art. You have to know that."
