More French Goodness

Two of the greatest French films of all time are screening over the next several days.
Abel Gance's nearly four-hour, 1927 epic "Napoleon" (yes, it's about the guy that got ditched at the mall in "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure") is at the County Museum of Art tonight and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (323 857-6010).
And Jean Renoir's classic anti-war masterpiece "Grand Illusion" (1937) plays Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the American Cinematheque's Aero Theater outpost in Santa Monica (323 466-3456).
Both movies, needless to say, are essential viewing for anyone who cares about the history of - or history in - films.
