What Is Killing the Great Directors of Europe?

Well, both Antonioni and Bergman were pretty old, so it's not really surprising. But one right after another? Grim (they would've appreciated that) but rather melodramatic (would've hated it).
I can't help but wonder if, had we lost either of these giants a few days earlier, anyone at the Comic-Con movie promotion orgy would have noticed.
