Who Are the Real Snobs, Huh?

Concern has been expressed that Oscar voters are out of touch with common moviegoers - you know, those discerning types who made "Jumper" last week's number one hit - this year. But let's be honest here: have Hollywood's self-anointed taste mavens really picked the best there is to honor? I mean, hat have we really got in this year's best picture race?
Three half-baked art films. One big studio release, a morality play that, like most things Hollywood, manages to be obvious and murky all at the same time. And the overwritten - but still charming! - comedy about the little pregnant girl.
I dunno. If the moviegoing masses are out of touch with this batch, maybe they're onto something. "Jumper" notwithstanding.
