It's only taken HALF THE YEAR, but I've seen the first flat-out great movie of 2008.
No surprise, considering the talent involved, but you never know if these things are going to work out. Especially these days, when the surest-seeming movie bets tend not to pay off on the screen.
Anyway, what a relief. And with this one opening later in the month and two sublime comedies slated for August, the last half of the year will be off to a great start.
But do six whole months really have to be so barren first?
