The skinny on Doug Spooner.
Doug Spooner took part in his first practice in Ontario this morning at Citizens Business Bank Arena. The 6-foot-3, 203-pound forward is less than a month removed from his fifth season playing for the University of Waterloo, to which then-head coach Karl Taylor recruited him in 2004.

Reign: more on playoffs and playoff tickets.
Victoria 3, Reign 1.
Jon Rheault scored on a second-period power play to tie it, and the Salmon Kings scored twice in the final five minutes — including an empty-net goal — to provide the final score. The Reign leave Canada with a 1-2-0-1 record in the four-game series, three points out of a possible eight.

Victoria 4, Reign 3, shootout.
This one had to sting: The Victoria Salmon Kings scored the game-tying goal with 11 seconds left in regulation, then pulled out a 4-3 win in a shootout.

Reign 4, Victoria 3.
Tehcnically, the Reign didn’t make a trade on Friday, the final day to complete trades in the ECHL. They still made a roster move that paid immediate dividends, as forward Doug Spooner scored a goal in his first professional game in the Reign’s 4-3 victory over the Victoria Salmon Kings.

Reign: Francisco suspended one game, fined.
The Reign will play without Jon Francisco tomorrow night in Victoria, as the ECHL announced the captain will be suspended for the game and fined an undisclosed amount of money for high-sticking the Salmon Kings’ Darryl Lloyd last night.
