Reign: McMillan signs in IHL.

Darren McMillan, a steady defenseman in the Reign’s inaugural season, has signed with the Quad City Mallards of the International Hockey League.

The 29-year-old journeyman joins his fourth pro team in as many seasons after totaling a goal and 10 points in 73 games for the Reign.

“Darren is a shut down defenseman who is very good in his own end,” Mallards coach Frank Anzalone said in a statement. “What’s intriguing about Darren McMillan is his hockey experience and all that grows from it. He’ll use that experience and hockey sense to become a great supporter for our offense.”
