ECHL fines Las Vegas for water-bottle incident.

The ECHL has decided to fine Las Vegas an undisclosed amount of money for actions related to the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty it received in the third period of Friday’s game at The Bank.

With 4:15 left in the game, Mike Egener delivered a hard hit to the Wranglers’ Mick Lawrence near the Vegas bench. Ned Lukacevic was demonstrably upset, grabbed a water bottle, and tossed it over two plexiglass partitions and onto the Reign bench.

    Don’t be surprised to see more fines coming against Las Vegas for a couple of other incidents involving fans over the weekend. There could even be a suspension, I wouldn’t be shocked at all if that happened.
    Vegas is easily the dirtiest team in the ECHL from the coach on down to the equipment manager.

    Their trainer stole a kids sign that said Wranglers Suck and spray painted over it. Later in the game one of the players took a full two hand swing at him and another fan sitting near the tunnel. Luckily the railing was there and no one was hurt. One poor little girl looked scared to death as she was sitting next to her dad who the player was going after. Security had to get involved it was quite a mess.
    If the players doesn’t get at least fined I would be shocked, I doubt we will ever know what happens unless we see the fans around and ask them.

    One thing I saw with the fans happened in the attack zone right side face off circle. The players were setting up for a face off and a fan banged on the glass at a Vegas player #17 and he turned around and put the butt of his stick through the camera hole in the glass towards the fan. If the fan wanted he could have very easily grabbed the stick, but he is a well mannered fan.
