Luis Tremblay’s career statistics reveal a man well-traveled. There wasn’t enough time in the span of a couple minutes after last night’s game to tap what is surely a vast reservoir of anecdotes, but here’s what he had to say about joining the Reign …
You’ve seen this team play a lot (with Stockton and Bakersfield); what do you think about them now that you’re here?
I played quite a bit against them. They have a hard-working team with lots of skill. They play a defensive kind of style, so it fits perfectly for me, coming in and not knowing the system that much. Just play defensive – it’s easy for me.
What is your style of play?
I play aggressive, try to finish my checks the most I can. Try to get in
the other teams’ heads sometimes. They paired me with a very good
defense here. We didn’t spend much time in our D-zone, so I didn’t get
to play that much, but I’m pretty sure this weekend I’m going to have
to. We played a good team this weekend, Idaho, and we got chances to
make big points and make a run in the playoffs.
How did you end up here?
First thing, my season’s been a little bit of a roller coaster. This is one of the first times I’ve been traded that much. Coming from Toldeo to Bakersfield, I thought, was a good thing, but sometimes things don’t work out. I knew yesterday at noon that Bakersfield released me, then I was here today at 4 o’clock getting my physical, getting ready to play. Having to move from one day to another, it’s very emotional. I’m glad to be on a team where they want me and they need me. I’m going to do the best I can to help them.
