Dinner/jersey auction set for Thursday.

The Reign announced that they will host a postseason dinner and jersey auction at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Doubletree Hotel in Claremont.

This is the team’s second annual postseason dinner and jersey auction, where fans can enjoy a BBQ meal alongside some of the Reign players and coach, and have the opportunity to bid on their gray specialty jerseys in a live auction benefiting Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.

You know, as an original season ticket holder, I am getting SO tired of being squeezed for every extra dollar that they can try to get out of me instead ot THEM giving a little bit back towards me. There was no jersey raffle giveaway to season ticket holders this year and the fan appreciation giveaways at the last game was pathetic…our section got a free rootbeer float at Shakey’s if you bought something there. I’m sorry, but the Reign receives more than they give to us “regular” folks.

    I agree with Chivas Fan.

I have to agree with you on the giveaways. They were pretty sad. As for the jerseys after the game they were given to season ticket holders off there backs. I really dont understand why they are doing the warm-up jersey for the auction at the dinner. Last year was the blue jerseys. The gray ones dont even have the names on the back. I am curious how they pick the season ticket holders for the jersey give away at the end of the season. I am also a original season ticket holder.

As an original Reign fan I’m glad to see that even though the season is over the Reign still take time to try and improve our community. The money for this event is to support Loma Linda Children’s Hospital. The Reign do great for us “regular” folks, and they are looking to help those who aren’t able to even physically attend a game. As a fan I want the Reign to give me back wins everything else is just secondary. I’m glad my money goes to an organization that doesn’t just TAKE but GIVES too.

Chivas fan- Having been to other teams fans appreciation games, the Reign give back more than most ECHL teams. A whole lot of us were at The Las Vegas Wranglers “fan appreciation night” they gave away maybe 5 gifts and none were jersey. Their BIG gift was the whole team lined up and signed autographs for you. BTW the jerseys off the back were givn to season ticket holders, in a drawing that was done at the office a day or two before the game. So the winner had notice they had won a jersey. no one knew which jersey until it was announced on the ice.
ALL the money raised from the “specialty” jerseys goes to the charity that is featured that night. The Front Office does not get a dime from the jersey auctions.

if it makes you feel better I will trade you my Jalepeno poppers for your rootbeer.

Having worked for the Galaxy and Chivas for the last 13 years I can tell you without doubt the Reign do far more for their fans, season ticket holder in particular, than either of those clubs.

@Sect 122 fan: With regards to the specialty jerseys the Reign “do get a dime” from the auction. The organization that sponsers the specialty jersey auction pays a fee to either the Reign organization or their foundation for the event. The excess raised through the jersey auction goes to the sponser.
