Rookie defensemen Matt Delahey and Jordan Hill, and veteran enforcer Chaz Johnson, are coming to the Reign.

Delahey, who turned 21 on Saturday, was a junior teammate of Colten Teubert and Tim Kraus with the Regina Pats. He played most of his six seasons with Regina, then finished the final 26 games of the 2009-10 season with the Chilliwack Bruins. He totaled 75 points (14 goals, 61 assists) and 305 penalty minutes in 258 regular-season games as well as five assists and 14 penalty minutes in 23 playoff games. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, is regarded as a stay-at-home defenseman.

The 21-year-old Hill is entering his first full professional season after playing two games with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League to finish his 2009-10 season.

Hill started his junior career in 2007 with his hometown Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League and finished it last season with the Saginaw Spirit. He finished his junior career with 16 goals, 65 points and 171 penalty minutes in 201 regular-season contests, and three points (two goals) and 12 penalty minutes in 18 playoff appearances.

Johnson, 26, fits the definition of minor-league journeyman, having played for six different teams, in three different leagues, the last five seasons. He spent the last three seasons with the ECHL’s Elmira Jackals, tallying 38 goals, 82 points and 407 penalty minutes in 117 games. He was called up to the AHL’s Binghamton Senators for 48 games during that period, posting one goal, six points and 55 penalty minutes. The feisty right winger reached the playoffs with the Jackals in all three seasons and tallied seven goals, 17 points and 46 penalty minutes in 20 games.
