Poll: Should the Reign bring back Beau Erickson?

The rundown on goalie Beau Erickson:

2010-11 stats [career]: 11-12-3 record, 3.39 goals-against average, .906 save percentage in 29 games.

Quote: “Hopefully (next year I’ll play) in the American League if things work out. If not, I’d love to be back in Ontario if the situation presented itself.”

Pros: Erickson’s attitude in the midst of a bleak season was commendable. After Kellen Briggs bolted for Europe, and after not playing for two months himself, Erickson was always game despite getting little help on defense many nights. He showed enough talent that, on a better team, he probably would have won more often than he lost.

Cons: Erickson’s career numbers are nothing spectacular. In two full ECHL seasons, he has never been with one team — either as a starter or a backup — from start to finish. Jase Weslosky outplayed him toward the end of the season, when the Reign were a much better team.

He put up a good fight. He may not be a great starter but would make a great backup.

JP our goalie have poor stats because the way they are played, IMO.They are played until they are completely exhausted before they get a game or two off.
I would love to Beau back BUT I fear he will not return to play for Coach Taylor. Even if he does it looks like we may get J F Berube for next season. If Zats bails from Manchester, Berube could fight for the back up role in Manchester.
Beaus good enough to play in the AHL and I would bet he gets an offer there

I don’t know about bringing Beau back, but management and the Kings organization have to do something to right the ship and get the Reign back into the playoffs–developmental league or not. I’m currently watching Game #5 of the Kelly Cup Final on America One, and I cannot believe the number of empty seats at Wings Stadium tonight. You’d think it was a preseason scrimmage! They had only 3,863 in the house last night, and I’d be surprised if they have much more than that tonight. True, it’s a much smaller venue than CBBA, but can you imagine the fervor in Ontario with a championship on the line? It’d be SRO. One way or another, we need a better product out on the ice, boys.

    Let’s go, Reign!

Season’s over. Aces win the Kelly Cup again. Attendance in Kalamazoo was just 2,947–that’s pathetic! The Reign averaged more than twice that this year, and we had a forgettable record. Oh, well–maybe next year . . . .

Oscar Fingall O’Flahertie Wills Wilde: “Each time that one loves is the only time one has ever loved. Difference of object does not alter singleness of passion. It merely intensifies it. We can have but one great experience at best, and the secret of life is to reproduce that experience as often as possible.”
