  On Thursday, skiers at Snow Valley may buy any regular priced lift ticket or lesson package and receive a "Spring Back" voucher valid for any midweek day, beginning March 2 through the end of the 2008/2009 season.

Snow Valley is offering some good discounts this winter. Come up to Running Springs for some fun in the sun.

On Wednesdays, skiers and boarders can get two lift tickets for just $44. Bring a friend or family member and enjoy the savings!

This special will continue through the end of this season. But please note: Lift tickets must be purchased in pairs here at Snow Valley ticket windows.

KABC Channel 7 is reporting that a Fullerton man has been found after he went missing while snowboarding at the Mountain High resort in Wrightwood.

They say Brendon Shoemaker had last been seen Tuesday on the south side of Mountain High West in the San Gabriel Mountains shortly after 4 p.m.

The 23-year-old was reportedly snowboarding out of bounds. When he didn't come back a friend reported him missing.

Rescue parties from Los Angeles County sheriff's and fire departments launched a search.

A helicopter crew saw Shoemaker shortly after daybreak and were working to bring him to safety. L.A. County Sheriff's deputies say he appears to be OK.

The National Weather Service is reporting good news for Mountain High skiers and snowboarders from President's Day weekend. A winter storm watch has been issued for the San Gabriel Mountains that calls for new snow through Tuesday. This storm is expected to drop up to two feet of snow on Mountain High with snow levels dipping to 4,500 feet.

 

More than three feet of new snow has already fallen at Mountain High over the last week-and-a-half. All three resorts are 100% open with up to 16 lifts, 62 trails and a 24-48 inch base of powder and packed powder.

Mountain High is bringing a rocking college party to the mountains this winter with its new program, College Night at Mountain High. College Night at Mountain High is a series of Thursday night parties created to bring Southern California college students together on the snow. College Night will take place from 5-10pm at the Bullwheel Bar & Grill at Mountain High West on Feb. 12, and March 12.

Toyota Matrix has just come aboard as presenting sponsor of College Night, jumpstarting the party with the Antics street team. The Antics crew will be dolling out custom t-shirts with an on-demand screen printing machine. The 11^th Annual $25,000 Cholula Triple Air Show went off Saturday, Feb. 7, at Mountain High in Wrightwood. Some 75 riders from across the country threw down for their share of a $25,000 cash purse.

The weather held off just enough for Danny Toumarkine to stake his claim on a hot $10,000 in cash with Stacie Anderson pulling in $4,000 for the women.

 Riders were stoked on one of the most unique setups the contest has ever seen; a sick hip to double jump line built by Mountain High's Faultline Terrain Park Crew. Standout riders included Spencer Link, Nick Sibayan, Tyler Flanagan, Ian Thorley, and Laurie Currier with the top 16 men and top six women advancing to a best of two run finals.

 Toumarkine threw down a back rodeo seven melon over the hip, to back seven indy, to front nine lien for his ten grand. Anderson got her four g's with a huge nose grab over the hip, to indy nose poke, to front three mute. West coast shreds came from spots like Mammoth and Tahoe, while others came from Park City and as far away as Europe, to enjoy the packed powder conditions from the recent three foot storm.

Mountain High is importing a triple shot of big air flavor when the 11^th Annual Cholula Triple Air Show returns to Wrightwood on Saturday. The spicy big air contest is Mountain High's largest event of the season presented by Monster Energy, Powder & Sun Boardshop, Jarritos Soda, and title sponsor Cholula Hot Sauce.

These partners bring a hot $25,000 cash purse to the richest "one day triple air contest" in the nation, complete with live DJ and vendor village for the public.

 

First held in snowboarding's method-grabbing heyday of 1998, the Cholula Triple Air Show was created as a corner-stone event for Mountain High. The legacy of big-name competitors who have stepped up to the hottest big air event north of the border include Shaun White, Kevin Pearce, Matt Hammer, Keegan Valaika, Hana Beaman, and Laurie Currier.

 

Registration for the Cholula Triple Air Show will take place from 7:30-9:30am in Big Pines Base Lodge at Mountain High West. Entry is $150 on a first come, first served basis on the day of the event. There are two divisions: men's open and women's open. The men's division will pay through sixteenth place and the women's division through sixth place. All competitors receive breakfast courtesy of Mountain High and lunch compliments of Wahoo's Fish Tacos.

 The contest starts at 10 a.m. on the run Lower Chisolm. The qualifying round will be a best of two runs format on a triple jump lineup with hits ranging from 50-75 feet.
