Boarders compete for $20,000 in Cholula Triple Air Show at Mountain High

Mountain
High is proud to announce the return of the $20,000 Cholula Triple Air
Show Saturday, February 4. For 14 straight years, riders like
Shaun White, Zak Hale, and Keegan Valaika have competed
for top prize in one of the richest Big Air events on the West Coast.

This year first place takes home $5,000 in the Mens Snowboarding
Division, $3,500 in Open Skiing, and $2,000 in Womens Snowboarding.

The
Cholula Triple Air Show is unlike any other big air event of its kind.
Instead of one big jump, skiers and snowboarders must tackle three
humongous kickers making their landings and execution crucial.  Riders
are scored on their best of two runs and the top 10 finishers make their
way to the finals where awards are paid out to 5th place.

The
Cholula Triple Air has been upgraded to a 3 star TTR (Ticket To Ride)
event this year which means competitors will earn points towards their
overall worldwide ranking.  The TTR standard is what competitive
snowboarders use to rank themselves against each other, and earn entry
into events like the Grand Prix and the Olympics.

One hundred and fifty of the best skiers and snowboarders in North America will descend on Mountain High Saturday, February 4th,
to compete for $20,000 in cash and giant, signature bottles of Cholula
Hot Sauce.  The professional-caliber jumps range from 40 to 60 feet and
competitors are encouraged to take advantage of the FREE practice day on
Friday, February 3rd.

Says
John McColly, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, “This is our
biggest event of the season and with $5,000 on the line for first place,
you know there is going to be some heavy competition.”

This is an open event but space is limited so competitors are encouraged to register early Friday, February 3rd
There is no pre-registration at this time.

Below is the complete
listing of event details including the prize purse breakdown.  Don’t
miss Mountain High’s richest single-day event, the $20,000 Cholula

Mountain High making snow this holiday

Old man winter returned to Mountain High last night,
bringing with him low temps in the high 20′s and only allowing the temp
to reach the lower 40′s. He’s keeping temps cool with a west wind that lets them make snow.

The guns are on every major run. Up top on the
Wedge, Wyatt, Upper Chisolm, Lower Chisolm and the top of Conquest all
are getting man made snow.

The lower mountain has snowmaking on Cruiser,
Creekside, Sunnyside, The Playground and Easy Street. Don’t forget that
East, West and The North Pole Tubing Park are all open, so grab the
family and join us on this holiday weekend.

Volcom Stone’s Peanut Butter and Rail Jam at Bear Mountain

57744-1206pbrjheader595.jpg

The Peanut Butter and Rail Jam is Volcom’s amateur snowboard contest
series. The jam is coming to Bear Mountain on Sunday, Jan. 15.

Instead of having
three rails in a row, they put them side by side to create a rail zone.
This boosts the energy level with everyone riding, hiking, and watching in a big group.

There
are four divisions; 15 & under, 16 & over, Girls and Open
(pro-am). The contest runs in a jam format so there are no scheduled
runs.

Competitors can hit each of the rails as many times as they want during
a 20 minute heat. The judges only care about tricks you pull, so don’t need to worry about falling.

The event is free on a
first come first serve basis. It gives away tons of free prizes and
PB&J sandwiches. Everyone who enters walks away with a t-shirt
and stickers.
