Heavenly Ski Resort reports five feet of new snow on first day of spring
It may be the official first day of Spring, but Heavenly Ski Resort is still reveling in the nearly 5 feet of
snow that has fallen in the last week!
There are powder stashes all
over the mountain so get up there early to carve into them!
They were running 24 lifts today that reach more than 90 trails.

WOOOHOOOOO! The Top is now open and IT IS KILLER!!! This was the perfect storm! It started wet and ended cold. All of the rocks are covered and the upper layer is dry and fluffy!
Mother Nature proved her power this weekend and today she rests for us to enjoy her bounty. Mammoth
Mountain received a total of 2 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours,
17 inches in the past 48 and 47 inches in the past 5 days!
The storm days were epic and now the skies have cleared to give us our first view of the Top. The current temperature at Main Lodge is 10 degrees with calm winds
from the west and the Top Station is currently experiencing southwest
winds around 20 mph, with a temperature of 5 degrees.
The skies are expected to be partly sunny today, with a high near 22 degrees with northwest winds around 10 mph.

Mountain High says this: ATTENTION POWDER PEOPLE: We’ve got snow & tons of it! 18-22
inches of amazing white powder fell at Mountain High this weekend and
today both the East and West Resorts are open with terrific conditions.
Make this a Monday to remember with some fresh snow at Mountain High.
Operating hours are 9am to 4pm today at both the East and West
Resorts. Night skiing will return this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Finally, Bear Mountain and Snow Summit had this to report:
Last weekend’s storm was quite the March Miracle. We received 28-32″ of
powder. The sun will be shining the rest of the week and we are looking
at a high of 35 degrees today.
The cool temps are a plus because they
will keep the new snow in its powdery state, so get out here and enjoy
the good stuff! Don’t let the sun fool you though, it’s going to be
chilly so bundle up!
Snorkel train stops at Mammoth Mountain
The
snorkel train is on it’s way at Mammoth Mountain! Forecasts call for a possible 12 to 18 inches of snow
accumulation by Saturday morning, an additional 13 to 19 inches throughout
the day and another 3 to 7 inches on Saturday Night!
On Friday, the resort reported the temperature at Main Lodge was 30 degrees with strong winds from the southwest, under heavy snowfall.
Due to high winds, chairs 12, 13, 14, 23, Face Lift, High Five, Cloud
Nine Express and the Upper Panorama Gondola were closed for the
remainder of the day.
The storm is expected to end cold, with a high of 10 degrees on Sunday with unsettled weather through Monday.
So, don’t put those powder boards away yet, it’s still winter on Mammoth Mountain!
Brian Head offering great spring break packages

Breaks Lodge & Spa and The Grand Lodge at Brian Head are offering great spring break lodging and lift ticket packages in Brian Head, Utah.
Because of heavy accumulation of snow from February storms, Brian Head just extended its season to April 15. Brian Head in Southern Utah and is 100 percent open.
It has enjoyed a great snow year in what’s been a weak snow-year
nationally. Year-to-date Brian Head has over fourteen feet of snow, and
March snow fall averages 57.8 inches and April 45.5 (Western Regional
Climate Center http://www.wrcc.dri.edu/cgi-bin/cliMAIN.pl?ut0900). Brian Head’s base elevation is 9,600 feet, Utah’s highest. So the snow lasts late into the season.
Now
through April 14, Cedar Breaks Lodge and Spa is offering 25% off
winter room rates and discounted lift tickets. The discounted room rate
is $80 weekdays and $93 Friday and Saturday, including tax, for a
newly-renovated Junior Villa, which has two queen beds, a kitchenette
with under-counter refrigerator, sink, microwave and a coffee maker.
For
its guests, the lodge has full day all-age lift tickets for $25
Monday-Friday and $39 Saturday & Sunday. Regular lift ticket prices
are $49/adults and $35/12 and-under and seniors 65 and over.
The lodge
runs a free shuttle to the adjacent Brian Head Resort ski area. Guests must
book directly with lodge at 435-677-3000 and mention “SPRING BREAK” to
receive these prices. Room and lift tickets must be booked at least 72
hours prior to arrival.
All rooms have a gas fireplace, a
full bath with jetted tub, cable television and telephones with data
port. All units are non-smoking. Pets are not allowed. Guests can enjoy
an indoor pool and hot tubs, a fitness center and spa. Some

through April 14, the pet-friendly Grand Lodge at Brian Head has a
lodging and lift ticket package, the “Aprs Ski Package, for $199 plus tax per night Sunday thru Thursday and $219 plus tax per night
