A big pick
As I'm watching the Patriots destroy the Chargers (you stay classy San Diego), I want to give my congratulations to Detroit Lions rookie safety Gerald Alexander.
Alexander, a Rancho Cucamonga High School graduate who was the Lions' second-round draft pick out of Boise State in April, recorded his first career interception Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. The interception, a second-quarter pick which Alexander returned 34 yards, was one of five turnovers Detroit caused in a 20-17 overtime victory.
