Big day at San G

The days of San Gorgonio High School having to travel off campus to play football are over. At 5 p.m. today, the Spartans will have their first practice at their new on-campus stadium, complete with FieldTurf.

It should be a big week for the Spartans, who host Serrano, the No. 4 team in the county, Friday at 7 p.m. San Gorgonio is one of many schools which either has a new stadium or new field surface. Miller premiered its new artificial turf two weeks ago and Yucaipa is set to do the same later this season. As far as new stadiums go, Hesperia's is less than a year old and new stadiums are in the works for Rialto and Kaiser High Schools, respectively.
