Thursday night pick

As I type this, I'm watching the Colorado Rockies continue their ridiculous surge into the playoffs. It's amazing to me that a franchise that has Dinger the Dinosaur as a mascot could make a run like this. Unlike the first link in this blog, I'm all about keeping him as a mascot.

Anyway, I won't make baseball picks because I've ceded that to Clay Fowler, because I'm sure his picks will be spot-on accurate. My college picks certainly weren't, as I went 4-7 against the spread last weekend. I'll blame that on having to write my picks in 20 minutes so I could catch a plane to Chicago, along with Dane Cook. I really don't understand how Mr. Cook, with his reference to soiling the coats, has become a hot movie star and the main pitch guy for the MLB playoffs. Heck, according to his imdb page , Cook has been in five movies in the past 18 months, starring alongside her and her . I don't get it. But I'll shut up for now and give you the pick.

Kentucky (+4.5) at South Carolina
This spread has spiked a point in the last 24 hours, meaning that the professional money is going to the Gamecocks. Since I'm not a professional and I have very little money, I'll take that advice. Also, South Carolina was a major player on college campuses in the 1990s, as their hats were very popular with the fraternity crowd. Pan down this site to see what that mean. Either way, I think Spurrier and the (Game)Cocks should deal Kentucky its first loss.
South Carolina 36, Kentucky 28
