A little bit late

There was something that didn't seem quite right about the beginning of the Ayala-Cajon Division II-A championship game (tied 5-5 with 4:51 left in the first by the way). I couldn't quite place it until right after the opening tip - Ayala's cheerleaders were nowhere to be found.

Had this been a Friday night, it would have been understandable, but it seemed pretty strange on a Saturday. Then again, you are talking about a school who's head coach - Mel Sims - dresses better than the rest of the Sierra League combined. Sims, for those who are wondering, is dressed pretty sweet once again, rocking a gray pinstriped suit with a pink shirt and a silver tie. He's also donning about six rings on his hands.

Oh yeah, Ayala's cheerleaders just showed up. Back to the game....
