Diamond Bar hires new baseball coach

Diamond Bar High School announced the hiring of Eric Shibley as its new varsity baseball coach via press release Tuesday.

Shibley, the fifth coach in the school's 26-year history, has been an assistant coach under former Brahmas head man Richard Gonzales, who will remain in the DBHS physical education department despite resigning his head coaching position.

The Diamond Bar baseball team finished 10-13-1 overall and 6-9 in the Sierra League last year, missing the playoffs after having lost in the first round of the CIF playoffs the previous three seasons.

Shibley will also teach phyiscal education to go along with his varsity duties, according to the release sent out by Diamond Bar athletic director J.T. Cameron. He is a graduate of Cal State-Dominguez and also has served as an assistant at Glendale High School.
