Hesperia, Miller win showdowns

Gavin Santos ran for 157 yards and a touchdown and Femi Odalapo had a key 91-yard interception return for a touchdown late in the third quarter as Hesperia toppled Serrano 24-17 Friday at Hesperia. Alex Spainhower threw for 199 yards and a touchdown for the Diamondbacks.

Also, via text message from Clay Fowler, Miller took down No. 1 Redlands East Valley 18-15, sewing up their place as the No. 1 team in the Sun next week.

And Serrano all spelled correctly. And all the pictures of Serrano.

I don't control which pictures are taken and used, but I did mess up Femi's last name in my writeup. I apologize for the error. As for Martinez, the maxpreps roster had Irvine Martinez. I will make a note of the correct spelling for future articles.. Thanks for pointing out my mistakes - deadline can get hectic and I need to be called out when I mess up.
