Ollie Butler: December 2009 Archives
Former Victor Valley High School boys basketball coach Ollie Butler will be honored by the school next Thursday, as VVHS will dedicate the floor in Keith Gunn Gymnasium in his honor as part of a game against Granite Hills.
The dedication will come before the 7 p.m. start and will be accompanied by a reception after the game. Butler, 79, coached at Victor Valley for 29 years from 1962-1990 after spending time in the Air Force and graduating from the University of Oklahoma. In that time, he accumulated 605 wins to 251 losses and led the Jackrabbits to 13 league titles during that span -- including 10 in a row from 1974-83.
