Redlands Adventist Academy: March 2011 Archives
48 hours ago, there were zero Seventh-Day Adventist schools with CIF-Southern Section titles. Now there are two, as the Redlands Adventist Academy boys team joined Mesa Grande Academy's girls team with a 61-42 victory over Los Angeles Arshag Dickranian this afternoon at Mater Dei High School.
RAA (21-7) overwhelmed Dickranian with a 15-2 run to start the fourth quarter, outscoring Arshag 21-6 in the final eight minutes. Mikael Anderson had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs, including a thunderous dunk right before the end of the first half that put RAA up four points. Tino Mkorombindo had 15 points and 12 rebounds for RAA while Kamaal Thomas added 10 points.
Jack Kerepetyan had 20 points and 15 rebounds for Arshag, but all of his points came in the first half, as RAA's pesky 5-foot-10 duo of seniors Stephen Lawson and Chido Mutodo frustrated the 6-6 Kerepetyan in the second half.

Pete Marshall first started covering prep sports for The Sun in 1991. Since then, he has covered high school sports in person in California as far south as Calexico and as far north as Stockton, but he favors the largest county in the country. He has been around for a while, but prefers being called experienced to being called old.
