Tara Roenicke: September 2010 Archives
Los Osos graduate Tara Roenicke, along with partner Summer Ross, took home the gold medal at the Under-21 Beach Volleyball World Championships earlier today in Alanya, Turkey. The duo took out the Italian team of Marta Menegatti and Viktoria Orsi Toth in three games - 19-21, 26-24 and 15-13 - in a 74-minute match to win the title.
The gold marks the second for Roenicke in international play, as she combined with Ross to win the gold for the United States at the Australian Olympic Youth Festival in January 2009. The article highlighting her most recent achievement can be read here.
