Fire closes part of I-5
CAMP PENDLETON— The California Highway Patrol says southbound Interstate 5 has been reopened at Camp Pendleton, but the northbound lanes will remain closed for several more hours, due to fires in the area
Officer Jim Bettencourt with the CHP says traffic is backed up for about five exits at Highway 76, the point at which the road is closed going north.
The CHP is advising drivers wanting to head north to take Interstate-15.
I-5 was closed for several hours this morning as fires blazed on both sides of the freeway.
