Prep football league forecast: Mt Baldy

Interestingly, the week before Mt. Baldy League play got underway last season, Colony lost to an Upland team that didn't even crack the playoff field. Then Colony ripped off nine wins in a row to take not only the Mt. Baldy League title, but the CIF-SS Central Division championship. So, guess what happened Friday? Colony lost to Upland...

Unlike last season it won't be a precursor to a championship. The Mt. Baldy League title will come down to one game: Colony vs. Chaffey Oct. 19. Chaffey is simply too good. Here's how I think the teams will finish...

1. Chaffey (5-0)*
2. Colony (4-1)*
3. Don Lugo (3-2)*
4. Ontario (2-3)
5. Garey (1-4)
6. Montclair (0-5)

* - playoff berth

As for the Sunkist League, about which I am much less knowledgeable...

1. Jurupa Valley (4-1)**
2. Bloomington (4-1)*
3. Kaiser (3-2)*
4. Summit (2-3)
5. Patriot (1-4)
6. Norte Vista (1-4)

** - league champion
* - playoff berth

Coming tomorrow...
