The Jayhawks 11-0? Oh yeah, It could happen
Browsing some college football schedules, I came across that of the undefeated Kansas Jayhawks. While the odds may be against it, now that the Jayhawks (5-0) proved some worth with a win at Kansas State, it's within the rhelm of possibility they could run the table until their season finale against No. 11 Missouri...
Here is the Kansas slate:
10/13 Baylor
10/20 at Colorado
10/27 at Texas A&M
11/03 Nebraska
11/10 at Oklahoma State
11/17 Iowa State
11/24 No. 11 Missouri
Yes, Colorado may be developing into a quality team (evidenced by their not-so-fluky win over Oklahoma) and the Jayhawks have to play Texas A&M (O-ver RA-ted) in College Station, but Nebraska is fading fast and Oklahoma State is definitely beatable. If it's 9-0, you can bet Kansas will come after Mike Gundy even if he is a man (and he's 40).
Granted, Kansas State was basically Kansas' first win of consequence this season but the No. 20 Jayhawks - who, of the undefeateds in Division I may be the least likely - have a chance to turn this year into something special without overcoming insurmountable odds. Even if it doesn't stay undefeated to that point, what a story it would be if this basketball school had a showdown with Missouri for the Big 12 North title and/or played in a big-time bowl game.
In fact, Missouri may fall behind Kansas as early as this week when the Tigers pay a visit to Oklahoma.
So, keep an eye on your first-place Jayhawks.
