Central Division playoff prediction

Here is my humble opinion of how the CIF-SS Central Division will play out.

Keep in mind only the top four teams are seeded by CIF. The seeds I've attached to each team correspond to where each landed in the bracket but would likely be different if not drastically effected by CIF rules. CIF rules like, for example, two teams from the same league can't have a potential second-round matchup. With four Baseline League teams in the 16-team Central Division bracket, CIF is faced with a delicate operation.

Without further ado...

FIRST ROUND
1 Rancho Cucamonga over 16 Colton
8 Paloma Valley over 9 Ontario

5 Ayala over 12 Colony
13 Etiwanda over 4 Cajon

3 West Valley over 14 Glendora
11 Upland over 6 Chaffey

7 Chino Hills over 10 San Gorgonio
2 Los Osos over 15 Wildomar Elsinore

QUARTERFINALS
1 Rancho Cucamonga over 8 Paloma Valley
13 Etiwanda over 5 Ayala

11 Upland over 3 West Valley
2 Los Osos over 7 Chino Hills

SEMIFINALS
1 Rancho Cucamonga over 13 Etiwanda
2 Los Osos over 11 Upland

FINALS
2 Los Osos over 1 Rancho Cucamonga

Dream on
what crappy predictions.

I say it will be Colony and Upland in the final :)

I have complete faith in my boys!

The Winner of Chino Hills vs Los Osos

will win the division, but picking ETIWANDA over AYALA is silly

I think Glendora will put up a good fight against West Valley, they pull a lot of people and the boosters dont like to lose. I see a close -/+ 4 point game

Colony? you kidding me... Its between the Baseline and Sierra league.

If a Baseline team dont win CIF this year they should be banned from football indefinately. Does it get any easier for them? Thier only competition would be the Sierra league and they all stink this year too. I aint never heard of any other teams in this CIF. Baseline has the best kids this year with the most talent. For any of them to be beat in the first round would be comical. If it is not a Baseline Final they should be moved to the high desert CIF and play Devour as well as the other 8 man teams. This cookie cutter CIF allows the Baseline to follow the yellow brick road to the finals. If it is not Rancho 'vs' Osos/Upland, they shold break down the Baseline league and make them independent. This is as easy as it gets.

I hope the baseline does well. It is a great reflection on the Inland division.

Four Baseline teams in the semis....I love it.

Wowzer and Brave Pride has it right. It will be between CH and LO. Tell me who RC and Upland has played that is worth talking about. Chino Hills is about to shock the IE! Take notice and good luck to all of you.

Go Huskies!

Don't be surprised if Rancho loses to Colton on Friday. Are you gonna be at that game? I'm not.

Paloma Valley is terrible. But Ontario must really be something awful if you have them losing that game.

And Los Osos vs. Chino Hills match-up in the semis will be the game of the year. But only by a little. Hopefully, the Los Osos-Upland super-finale won't disappoint.

RC played and beat Osos, enough said

All this talk about Chino Hills and Los Osos reminds me of the good old days when both schools were just opened. They met in two preseason games in which, if I'm not mistaken, Chino Hills leads the series 2-0. I dare say, with the strength of the Baseline league this year, Los Osos has their best chance this season of notching their first victory in the series. BUT, don't count those Huskies out. Should both Chino Hills and Los Osos be fortunate enough to make it past their opening games, (nothing is a given, boys) the rematch between two of the Inland Empire's most impressive new football programs will be one of the most thrilling games of the year. Finally, a Husky win at this point in the post season will make all of you believers.

Wow! that was fun. Somehow Clay, I think there's more to it than just picking the favorites to win... And that's why we play the games. The boys from all 16 of these teams should be proud of what they've accomplished so far this season. One thing you can be sure of, is that every guy on each of these teams will leave his heart and soul on the field for each and every game he's in. We should all feel fortunate to be in the presence of these great athletes as we watch them compete in what promises to be some of the best football in Southern California this year.

Joe the Plumber,

Your comments this week are so much more positive than your minor rant a week ago. Love the respect you are giving our Sierra League teams in your picks. Hope the boys can live up to your expectations. I know we have to take it week by week but it would be great to beat Rancho in the semifinals and meet you again in the finals. What an incredible rematch that would be! Although, I'm not sure I agree with your predictation of the outcome of the final game - but we'll see! Wishing your team (and mine) success in the post season!

I have seen Chino Hills, over rated. Upland - defense should keep them in the game, lose in second round. Colony needs to play together, injuries and youth has hurt them. Should be Rancho Cucamonga or Los Osos.

DONT UNDERESTIMATE THE SIERRA. BASELINE= OVERRATED.

The greatest thing about both Chino Hills and Los Osos winning Friday night is that the game can be heard on www.sportsnetusa.net with Steve Hassler and Greg Crouse. Hear ya'll on Friday 11/28!

that guy said:

Im sick of hearing about the Huskies. OVERRATED! The only dogs in town shut them up over two weeks ago. Why doesnt Ayala ever get any love? They are averageing 28 while surrendering only 9 over the last 6 games! I hope the Bulldogs get another shot at the Huskies in the finals so they can shut them up again! Unfortuneately theyre gonna get beat by Los Osos this week.

Well, it's sad to see the overrated Baseline League sending 3 of 4 teams in the semi-finals.

RC over Cajon 49-10
LO over Upl 28-0

LO over RC 38-17
